Briser les murs<\/em>\u00a0takes viewers behind the scenes of the first Integrated Centre for Sexual Violence Services (CIViS)<\/span><\/a>, where victims of all ages and genders can access\u2014free of charge and under one roof<\/strong>\u2014the full range of support they may need, whether police, social, legal, or psychological.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through powerful testimonies and diverse perspectives, the film sheds light on a groundbreaking, human-centred approach<\/strong>, unique in Qu\u00e9bec: a place where silos are broken down, expertise is shared, and each journey is designed to ease both the administrative and emotional burden on victims while also supporting their loved ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAfter a sexual assault, victims often face a maze of services. They may end up retelling their story to dozens of people without knowing who can actually help. The CIViS pilot project, launched in Mont\u00e9r\u00e9gie in 2023, has changed that. It\u2019s a unique space where more than 30 partners\u2014lawyers, psychosocial workers, psychotherapists, and police officers\u2014work hand in hand to support each victim with compassion and continuity. Everything is centralized. Everything is free.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Directed by Vanessa Boisset (Vivre en funambule, Un Qu\u00e9bec toujours fou de ses enfants?<\/em>), the documentary was shot in Mont\u00e9r\u00e9gie. It showcases this new model of coordinated care<\/strong>, led and hosted by La Travers\u00e9e<\/a>\u2014a psychosocial and psychotherapy support centre\u2014in partnership with the Mont\u00e9r\u00e9gie CAVAC and the Longueuil Agglomeration Police Service, with financial support from Qu\u00e9bec\u2019s Ministry of Justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Briser les murs<\/em> will premiere on October 8 at 6:30 p.m. at Cineplex Odeon Brossard.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
