On October 18 and 19, under clear skies and brilliant fall colours, runners of all ages and experience levels took to the trails of Bromont. Some covered 55 km, others 80 km, and some pushed through mythical distances like 160 km — running through the night, through fatigue and moments of doubt, but always with the cause in mind.
Eight teams took on the relay challenge, running for 12 or 24 hours in an atmosphere that was both festive and deeply supportive.
One of the most moving moments of the weekend: 15-year-old Many Labrie completed her very first 30 km trail run alongside her father, Philippe, who covered 100 km as part of the same 24-hour relay team.
An extraordinary wave of support
Initial goal: $50,000
Final amount raised: $111,555
This incredible success was made possible thanks to the commitment of all participating teams, the generosity of more than 500 donors, and a major gift of $50,000 from RBC Capital Markets, dedicated to expanding our services for children.
Last year, 167 people donated.
This year, 504 stepped forward.
That’s more than growth — it’s a movement taking shape.
Moments we won’t forget
The joint relay team from the Longueuil Agglomeration Police Service (SPAL), CAVAC Montérégie and La Traversée — representing our Centre de services intégrés en violence sexuelle (CIViS) project — proudly took 2nd place in the 12-hour relay category — a powerful symbol of collaboration in service of the people we support together.
And once again this year, the Bromont Ultra showed that solidarity often runs in families. Beyond the father-daughter duo of Philippe and Many, board member Michèle Laframboise ran with her son Étienne. Their story beautifully illustrates how generosity can be lived, shared, and passed down:

On the ground, a volunteer crew of eight clinical and administrative staff from La Traversée worked in shifts to support the event.
Their presence reflects what guides us every day: standing together — in effort, in care, and in community.

A lasting impact
The funds raised will allow La Traversée to continue offering free, specialized mental-health services to children, youth, adults and families affected by sexual violence. These funds will help us:
- maintain free access to psychotherapy and psychosocial support
- reduce wait times
- support more young people and families
- offer care tailored to each person’s pace and recovery
Healing from trauma takes time, trust, and specialized support.
Thanks to you, this path remains possible — and free.
