La Traversée is a psychosocial support and psychotherapy center for victims suffering from mental health disorders following sexual abuse.

Operating in Montérégie for 40 years, we offer free services to victims of sexual violence of all genders and ages, without discrimination, as well as to their loved ones. Since 1984, La Traversée has helped tens of thousands of lives rebuild.
Innovation
Since 2023, we have coordinated and hosted the Centre de services intégrés en
violence sexuelle (CIViS), a project co-led with the CAVAC de la Montérégie and the
Agglomeration of Longueuil Police Department. This center enables the implementation of a continuum of intervention, thus facilitating the psycho-socio-legal trajectory and the therapeutic journey of victims of sexual violence.

team to exchange, explore, collaborate and develop true cutting-edge expertise in the
field of sexual violence.
Your responsabilites
- Pre-assess incoming requests and present the services of La Traversée and CIViS.
- Conduct intake assessments (impact and needs assessments) in collaboration with a CIViS intervention coordinator.
- Open clinical files for clients and maintain the waitlist.
- Assist clients in completing IVAC qualification applications.
- Promote the various research projects in place at La Traversée.
- Support individuals as they come forward to disclose experiences of sexual violence at the CIViS.
- Offer one-time psychosocial support sessions and regular psychosocial follow-ups to children, adolescents, and adults who are victims of sexual violence and their support persons.
- Co-facilitate support and intervention groups for support persons.
- Collaborate with psychotherapists.
- Participate in team meetings.
- Participate in meetings of psychosocial counsellors under the supervision of the director of clinical services.
- Contribute to the improvement of the organization’s practices and procedures.
- Perform various clinical-administrative tasks related to the CIViS partner network.
- Any other related tasks.
Required profile
- University degree in the human sciences (psychology, sexology, social work, criminology, psychoeducation, or another appropriate degree for the position)
- Membership in your professional order
- Good knowledge of the issue of sexual violence
- Knowledge or interest in the socio-judicial process
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ease with electronic record keeping
- Proficiency in Office tools
- Ability to work in English (an asset)

- Hybrid work mode: Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday in person / Monday and Wednesday in telework. La Traversée is located in Saint-Lambert, at the exit of the Victoria Bridge.
